Project Description

TSSW provided project management and technical assistance to the State 9-1-1 Program Office in their efforts to create a more complete, statewide address database as well as the tools and workflows to support its adoption and maintenance by local data providers.

What was our

Responsibility

TSSW supervised a team of 12 professionals and student interns across three organizations to scope, implement and complete a short-fuse (2 month) project:

GIS Layering

Collect, inventory, prepare and process parcels and/or address points into a coherent address point GIS layer for 7 of the 15 Arizona Counties which lacked a comprehensive address point database at the time of the project;

GIS Desktop Tools

Develop GIS desktop-based tools for flagging addresses with attribute errors that need priority attention and moving address points onto the primary structure on each parcel based on current aerial imagery.

Backend GeoServer

Develop a web-based address-editing application to allow community-wide participation in reviewing address point locations and attributes. The address editor was implemented in Javascript and HTML5 using open source mapping libraries and an open source GeoServer backend.

TerraSystems was able to very quickly respond to our requests to scope and implement three complex addressing- related projects, including the creation of rural addressing points, the development of automated address processing tools and the creation of on-line address editing tools.
